Your 2026 home refresh plan

(How to elevate your space this year, no renovation required)

Hello home design community!

New year, new space 🤍

Happy New Year! I’m sorry I’ve been a little quiet the last few months—the holidays were busy, but I’m so excited to be back in your inbox.

If there’s one “vibe” I’m seeing everywhere for 2026, it’s this: homes that feel warmer, more personal, and more lived-in (in the best way). Less sterile perfection… more soul, comfort, and intention.

Here are 3 easy, high-impact ways to refresh your home in 2026 (no renovation required):

1. Go “texture-first” (the easiest shortcut to an elevated home)

2026 spaces feel tactile and cozy. Pick one room and add 2–3 texture upgrades:

  • Swap in linen/velvet/bouclĂ© pillows (even just 2 new covers changes the whole vibe)

  • Add a throw with real texture (chunky knit, woven, or brushed)

  • If you’re ready for one bigger move: a natural fiber rug or a plusher rug to warm up the room instantly

Think: not more decor, but rather better materials that make the room feel inviting and elevated.

2. Add one “soft shape” statement (curves are everywhere in 2026)

Curves instantly make a space feel more current and calming. Choose one to start with:

  • A round mirror (entryway, bedroom, living room = instant softness)

  • A curvy lamp or sculptural vase on a shelf/console

  • A rounded coffee table tray or arched frame to soften hard edges

Tip: One curved piece can make the whole room feel more intentional without changing your entire furniture.

3. Build a “personal corner” (nostalgic + collected is the 2026 flex)

Instead of buying all new, 2026 is about homes that look collected over time.

Pick one surface (console, bookshelf, side table) and style it with:

  • One vintage or thrifted piece (frame, bowl, candlestick, small art)

  • One meaningful item (photo, travel object, heirloom, book)

  • One finishing detail that feels crafted (a small textile runner, a woven basket, or even a subtle trim/fringe detail)

It should feel like you live there, not like a showroom.

If you want help applying this to your home, I’m opening up a few FREE mini design consultations this week for the Housing Info community. We’ll talk through your room, favorite styles, and simple next steps to get you closer to your dream space.

Warmly,
Grace
